# Prints

### How a print is made

1. The camera crops the shot exactly to what the viewfinder showed.
2. The NUI applies the filter, lighting, overlay, vignette, grain, date stamp and watermark.
3. The server uploads the image.
4. The print is saved with a unique ID (`sb_` followed by 12 characters) and a serial number.

The inventory item only carries the `photo_id`. Everything else, including the image, frame, writing and metadata, is loaded from the database. This way the right image always shows.

### Checks

The server confirms that the player really holds a print before any write, shake, show or tear.
